CAN WE BE HAPPY?
Young or old, rich or poor, we spend all our lives trying to be happy, trying to obtain that elusive feeling, that mindset, that state of being.
But with all that’s happening in our lives how can we be truly happy? Is it possible to push past all the hurt, the pain, the worry, the doubt and be happy? Can we be happy despite our circumstances? Despite our trial, our fears and our tribulations? Can we be happy, truly happy?
Being happy may not be so hard, it may not be as elusive as we think. Happiness may be within reach for all of us. See what others think about happiness and how to obtain it:
“There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.” -Epictetus
“Happy is the man who has broken the chains which hurt the mind, and has given up worrying once and for all.”- Ovid
Don’t Think Too Much
“It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.” - Chuck Palahniu
“Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know.” -Ernest Hemingway
“Man only likes to count his troubles; he doesn’t calculate his happiness.”- Fyodor Dostoyevsky
“I think and think and think, I‘ve thought myself out of happiness one million times, but never once into it.”- Jonathan Safran Foer
Try Making Others Happy
“Happiness is like a kiss. You must share it to enjoy it.” -Bernard Meltzer
“Generally speaking, the most miserable people I know are those who are obsessed with themselves; the happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others…By and large, I have come to see that if we complain about life, it is because we are thinking only of ourselves.”
- Gordon B. Hinckley
“Happiness is the only good. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here. The way to be happy is to make others so.”- Robert Green Ingersoll
